New skate park design
The Escondido Sports Center's skate park will be getting a new design. There was a meeting last night to discuss what area skaters, bikers, and rollerbladers would like to see in the new park. If you missed the meeting and would like to share your input, you can still call Recreation Supervisor, Peter Ritchie at (760) 839-4276. Most literature U.S. cities
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has released a list of the most literate cities based on factors such as number of bookstores, library circulation records, newspaper circulation rates and more. Art Center meetings open to the public
Do you have something to say about the proposed Arts Center budget? Well, here's your chance. Attend one of the two meetings this week. On Tuesday the public is invited to attend a workshop in Salon 1 of the conference center of the Arts Center at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday, the City Council will continue budget discussions in the Council Chambers at City Hall at 4:00 p.m. For more information, see the North County Times article:

Librarian Jim Bray
Jim Bray, the librarian who spent 19 years creating the incredible audio-visual collection here at the Escondido Public Library, died Thursday at age 63. Read more about him in Sunday's North County Times article:
